Advice

Mr. Tunstill,

My name is Tom. I live in a suburb of Chicago, IL in the U.S. I'm hoping you can give me some advice. Over 30 years ago, my father started a lead soldier collection. Over the years, it became quite extensive. He passed away 4 years ago and now, all these lead soldiers are just collecting dust at my mother's house. I really have no idea how many there are, but I'd roughly estimate somewhere between 750 - 1,000 pieces. Many are still new in the box.

........................can you take some photos?

I remember my dad always telling me that the collection would be worth a lot of money someday. Well, unfortunately, my mother is under medical care that she cannot afford and I was wondering if selling this collection could help raise some money for her. I wish I could describe them in detail to you but I don't really have a good grasp on their descriptions. I'm fairly certain that most of them were made in either France or Britain. They're all beautiful hand painted pieces and in excellent condition (except for a little dust) and as I said, many are still new in box.

.................manufacturers names? Sizes of the figures? Names of regiments?

I would really prefer to be able to sell the entire collection as a whole for a fair price rather than try to spend a lot of time selling piece by piece. Can you give me any advice on where to start with my situation? Do you know any serious collectors in Illinois?

................no, sorry

Would you be interested?

..............possibly

Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated.

I look forward to, hopefully, hearing back from you soon.

................let me have the above details

Sincerely,
Thomas Gulino

...............Best wishes
...............John Tunstill
