Soldier collectors of the world unite

Got a good ring to it don’t you think? Well, we’ve got thousands of soldiers in my museum, www.soldierssoldiers.com, and we’re having a soldier meeting in May of this year in central Italy, to which you are all invited.

And did you know that in January about a hundred years ago………during the Boer War, from a diary;
On the 1st January, Kuruman surrendered to the Boers.
Succesful action by General French at Colesberg.
On the 3rd of January there was fighting near Colesberg.
On the 6th of the same month, great Boer attack on Caesar’ Camp and Waggon Hill, Ladysmith.
On the10th of January Lord Roberts and Lord Kitchener reached Capetown.
On the 11th, Sir Redvers Buller occupied the south bank of the Tugela at Potgeiters’s Drift. Lord Dundonald and mounted Brigade crossed the Tugela at Potgeiter’s.
On the 15th Boers repulsed by French near Colesberg.
On the 18th of January 1900, when the Tugela bridged and crossed at Trichardt’s Drift.
On 20th – 22 th Warren’s troops retreating to heights north of the Tugela.
On 23th Spion Kop seized and General Woodgate wounded.
In the following days, on the 23rd Spion Kop abandoned.
